Medical ultrasound scans can now be used to diagnose problems with joints, bones, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Using state of the art technology and AI to reflect images back to a handheld probe, our in house musculoskeletal specialist is able to visualise many pathologies including:
Tendon sheath inflammation
Areas of tendon degeneration and tendon tears
Ligament sprains
Joint effusions (inflammation)
Muscle tears
Diagnostic ultrasound scans also allow visualisation of the body tissues under dynamic assessment. This means our specialist is able to image joints while moving them through their range of motion, image tendons while placing the tendon under load and image ligaments when performing stress tests. Xrays and MRI scans do not offer this ability.
